SYMPTOMS:
P0944 – Hydraulic pump, loss of pressure.
P0868 – Transmission oil pressure sensor. Low.
P0731 – Incorrect first gear ratio.
P0736 – Incorrect reverse gear ratio.
P0841 – Transmission oil pressure switch or sensor (A) out of operating range.
P0876 – Transmission oil pressure switch or sensor (D) out of operating range.
Gearbox warning light ON. Improper gearbox operation.
A delay or slipping of the gearbox is noticed when a gear is engaged for the first time after the vehicle has been parked all night.
NOTE: This informative bulletin only affects those vehicles equipped with 45RFE or 545RFE automatic transmissions
POSSIBLE CAUSES :
The cooler filter and the transmission cooler return filter are clogged or damaged.
Repair procedure:
- Read the fault codes recorded in the transmission control unit (TCM) using the diagnostic tool.
- Replace the transmission cooler filter.
- Replace the cooler return filter.
- Clean the hydraulic circuit.
- Delete the fault codes recorded in the transmission control unit (TCM) using the diagnostic tool.
- Carry out a second reading of the fault codes in the transmission control unit (TCM) using the diagnostic tool and confirm that the fault codes described in the field symptoms of this in- formative bulletin are not displayed.
